Notes: Cory based the design of the Hilton Boss from the world famous Silver Hilton. The Silver Hilton is quite an effective fly for steelhead on the Babine River in British Columbia, Canada. The Hilton Boss inherited some aspects of its predecessor and has incorporated new materials to improve the durability and visibility. The fly is one of Cory’s go to flies for casting to bull trout, brook trout and big rainbow trout. It has also been proven to work very well trolling amongst other lures with fantastic results when migrating smolts and fry patterns are on the menu. Cory built the fly in 2001 right after a posting at the Babine counting fence at the outflow of Nilkitkwa Lake, on the Babine river.
I was born in Kelowna, British Columbia and raised there until the age of 5, absorbing the most awesome art of fly tying from my father and grandfather. I soon found that my passion was tying flies that fooled any fish… in any waters. Using creations to imitate a certian fly, bug or invertibrae to distract Mission Creek bound sockeye and trout species in every S.E.K.I.D. pond above the massive Okanagan Lake, brought me pleasure and calmed me in a way that nothing does to this day.
