Tied by: Robbie Hiltz
Originated by: Carrie Stevens
Source: Carrie G. Stevens: Maker of Rangeley Favorite Trout and Salmon Flies; Hilyard Pg 126-128

Hook: Partridge CS15 #4
Tag: Silver embossed tinsel
Body: Orange floss
Rib: Silver embossed tinsel
Belly: White bucktail
Throat: Brown hackle fibers
Wing: 2 green hackles flanked by black hackles
Cheek: Jungle cock
Head: Black (optional orange band)

Notes: This is another of Carrie Stevens’ famous patterns with an unknown origin. Once time travel is developed, we can send back someone to find out what Carrie had named this streamer after. The black outer wing blends nicely with the inner green, and the wet fly produces a dark wing contrasted by a light body and belly. I should note that this is a slight variant, straying from the original dressing only by the omission of the orange hackle fiber tail and the use of the embossed tinsel.

Robbie Hiltz Robbie Hiltz – Born in 1975 in a lovely little Annapolis Valley town of Berwick, N.S. I grew up fishing behind my grandparents’ house on the North mountain angling for lovely little brook trout. The brook and stream were small as I but back then everything seemed so big. Fast forward 20 years and I was still fishing but the worm and alder was replaced with rapalas and spinning reels and the quarry was now anything that a person could catch.
