Body: Silver flat tinsel
Throat: Very small bunch of orange calftail next to hook then black calf tail, each as long as the shoulder
Wing: 4 orange hackles
Shoulder: Golden pheasant tippet
Eye: Jungle cock
Head: Black

Notes: The Dick’s Special was one of the patterns Jim had submitted to be published in Trolling Flies for Trout and Salmon. This pattern as well as the Winnipesaukee Queen were created by Dick Fozie of Alton Bay. Jim discovered the patterns listed in a New Hampshire Profile Magazine in the early 1960’s and tied the pattern commercially for a time.
