Notes: Eunan originally conceived this streamer under a different moniker. This streamer, and the original idea, evolved from some of John McLain’s Funky Feathers. Eunan was initially after the coveted Indian Crow Badger, but they were unavailable at the time of the order and so the Orange Flame badger replaced them. With this change in wing, also came a slight change in the body color and after tying a couple different iterations, this is the one Eunan decided looked the best. The name comes from the missile of the same name, something about the finished fly reminded him of the warhead, and the name stuck.
Eunan Hendron – I’ve been tying flies since I was about 10 or 11, a direct progression from fishing stillwater team competitions with my father as a young boy. I began tying classic flies (wet, streamer and atlantic salmon) towards the end of 2011, having never tied them before. A pretty steep learning curve, not for the feint of heart, but many thanks are due to the members of various forums who gave me tips and constructive criticism to aid my progression.
