Tied by: Darren MacEachern
Originated by: Darren MacEachern

Hook: Partridge CS15 #2
Thread: Black
Tail: Lady Amherst pheasant crest
Body: Black floss
Ribbing: Reverse wrapped with fine silver oval tinsel then wrapped with red floss behind mediun silver oval tinsel
Throat: Red guinea fowl
Wing: 2 red hackles flanked by black hackles
Shoulder: Silver pheasant
Eyes: Jungle cock
Head: Red

Notes: As the name implies, this design was inspired by the beloved confection. The extra ribbing twisted around the shank is purely for decoration, but should remind one of the familiar spirals of the red and black licorice tubes. The tail crest may be difficult to find in which case, a red dyed golden pheasant crest should be substituted.

Darren MacEachern – Darren has been fishing from the age of 4, all across Canada. He started on the east coast in Prince Edward Island before moving west to the banks of the Bow River in Calgary Alberta. He now resides just outside of Toronto, fishing the Great Lakes and the fine tributary waters around.
