Originated by: Darren MacEachern

Hook: Partridge CS15 #2
Thread: Black flat waxed nylon
Tag: Flat silver tinsel
Tail: Red, orange and yellow schlappen
Body: Black floss
Rib: Flat silver tinsel
Belly: Black polar bear
Throat: Yellow, orange and red schlappen
Wing: Four black hackles with silver dots spaced along the stem with white crystal placed in the wet paint the last dot should not have a crystal
Eye: Jungle cock with crystal
Head: Peacock sword

Notes: Darren initially started playing with the addition of crystals after finding a sheet of stick on ones on route to the river one day. Several were stuck to the side of a small streamer and cast into one of the small brooks he fishes most often. There were several aggressive take from small trout, and one 14 inch, a trophy for these tiny waters. Unfortunately, the adhesive on the crystals was not very strong, and they were washed off rather quickly. Darren now opts to use heat set crystals, that can be stuck into the paint as on Edwin’s Galaxy, or set directly onto the feather with a careful application of heat. You will want to be careful not to place crystal too far towards the end of the hackle as they can drag it down. Darren uses the smallest size he can find to minimize the weight. The name is a nod to Edwin Hubble, and the resemblance to the starry night sky.

Darren MacEachern – Darren has been fishing from the age of 4 all across Canada. He started on the east coast in Prince edward Island before moving west to the banks of the Bow river in Calgary Alberta. he now resides just outside of Toronto, fishing the Great lakes and the fine tributary waters around.
