#229 Majestic – Don Ordes

Tied by: Don Ordes
Originated by: Don Ordes

Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek Rangeley Streamer hook
Thread: White
Tag: Oval gold tinsel
Body: Yellow, orange and red seal dubbing wrapped with yellow floss
Belly: Red squirrel tail
Throat: Peacock sword
Underwing: Peacock sword (long)
Wing: 2 orange hackles flanked by 2 burnt orange coq de leon hackles on each side
Shoulder: Peacock body
Eye: Tragopan
Head: Black with dark and light blue bands

Notes: Don’s creative side shows through with the Majestic. The pattern relies on the natural shimmer of peacock and seal to provide color and flash. The body is unique among streamers with just graduated whispers of hair flowing along the hook shank.

Don OrdesDon Ordes – Mr. Fantasy Fly. I don’t know how to describe myself as a fly tier, so I don’t know anyone else could, at least and be accurate. I enjoy all kinds of tying and then some which aren’t even kinds one can explain. I am serious at times, but most times not. I enjoy flies for fishing, but not the ones anyone else fishes.
