#242 Red Ned – Robert Frandsen

Tied by: Robert Frandsen
Originated by: Robert Frandsen

Hook: Partridge CS15 #2
Thread: White
Tag: Flat gold tinsel
Body: Brown floss
Ribbing: Gold oval tinsel doubled
Belly: Peacock herl then red bucktail
Throat: Red hackle fibers
Wing: 4 red hackles flanked
Shoulder: Red golden pheasant
Eyes: Jungle cock
Head: Black

Notes: This is Bob’s all red freestyle creation. The brown body is one not often seen, but works surprisingly well with the all red surroundings and having the natural red pheasant feather there to tie things together.

Robert FrandsenBob (Robert) Frandsen – I started fishing at a pretty early age going as a hanger on with my grandfather in my pre- school years.
I began tying flies at 13 under the guidance of Lance Wedlick who was well known in Australia more as writer.

Nice streamer Bob. The proportions and the overall shape is perfect, as usual…
