#256 Jacksonville – Team Colors Collection – Don Soar

Tied by: Don Soar
Originated by: Don Soar

Hook: Gaelic Supreme Mike Martinek Rangeley Streamer hook 8xl
Thread: White
Body: White floss
Rib: Black floss with fine flat silver tinsel on the leading edge
Throat: Black schlappen
Wing: 2 black hackles flanked by shorter and narrower blue (teal) hackles
Shoulder: Ringneck pheasant body feather dyed black
Eye: Jungle cock
Head: Black

Notes: The Jacksonville is a striking contrast of blue on black, making it one of the coolest looking streamers in Don’s TCC series. The Jags are the only professional level team headquartered in Jacksonville. The Jaguars joined the NFL in 1995 and are still hungry for their first championship.

Don Soar – Born and raised in central Massachusetts now living in Lancaster with my wife of twenty years Nancy. Fishing started young in life tagging along with my brothers. I took up fly fishing in the early 90’s. Ten years later I started tying flies. After meeting Mike Martinek Jr. at a local fly shop I was introduced to the dark side of fly tying, the long fly.

this is very orginal blend of colors, nicely tied STRMR. What are the shoulders (cheeks)? Are those dyed or natural?
