Notes: Mike has taken a que from mother nature in selecting the colure for his Fall Streamer. Yellow, orange and gold tones play a leading role with the muted barring of the wood duck downplaying the brightness of the fly. Mike ties his streamers with white thread, including the head. He uses a marker to color the head and uses several coats of clear nail polish to give the fly a neat finish.
Mike Boyer – I started tying flies for Trout in the early 1960’s. My folks bought me a little boxed fly tying kit from the local sporting goods store that included a Thompson vise, some hackles and various body and winging materials. A couple of my father’s friends taught me how to cast a fly, and the obsession with flies and fly fishing began.
