Notes: Da Bears are one of the two remaining original teams in the NFL. The franchise began in Decatur, Illinois, in 1919 before moving to Chicago in 1921. The Bears captured their first Superbowl in 1985, but had captured eight league championships prior to the Superbowl era. The hackle don uses is magical, displaying a mystical blue on the back side of the dark blue facade. A fiery splash of orange crowns the streamer, giving a bright spot to the dark fly.

Don Soar – Born and raised in central Massachusetts now living in Lancaster with my wife of twenty years Nancy. Fishing started young in life tagging along with my brothers. I took up fly fishing in the early 90’s. Ten years later I started tying flies. After meeting Mike Martinek Jr. at a local fly shop I was introduced to the dark side of fly tying, the long fly.
