Notes: On December 30th, 2010, Harold E. Brown Jr., 37, died in the line of duty as an intelligence officer in the Khost Province of Afghanistan. Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Army and proudly served assignments in Bosnia, the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. When the news of Harold Brown’s death reached his hometown of Bolton, Massachusetts, flags stood at half mast and residents expressed their condolences to the family of the community’s respected citizen. Don tied this dignified streamer to honor the memory of his dear friend.

Don Soar – Born and raised in central Massachusetts now living in Lancaster with my wife of twenty years Nancy. Fishing started young in life tagging along with my brothers. I took up fly fishing in the early 90’s. Ten years later I started tying flies. After meeting Mike Martinek Jr. at a local fly shop I was introduced to the dark side of fly tying, the long fly.

  1. First off, this is a great tribute fly. Second, you can’t go wrong with red and white. Fish love that combo. Beautiful tie to top it off. Well done.
