Notes: The inspiration for the streamer comes from a salmon fly Loretta designed in 2011 to honour the memory of her mother Anna. It is a Fall pattern which includes Anna’s favorite colors purple and orange. Loretta’s mother had always been interested in knowing if the fish she had caught had been released. The original salmon fly featured a golden pheasant tippet in the wing with a light purple collar. It has a Golden Phesant Tippet for the wing and a light purple collar. Loretta mixes in some pearl krystal flash with the wing. She opted for white bucktail on the streamer inplace ofthe flash as she felt it more appropriate and changed out the purple collar for a shoulder using peacock breast feathers. A beautiful tribute for a mother.
Loretta Parent -I have been tying flys for 3 years now and have enjoyed learning everything I can about the art of fly tying. I am very passionate about this pastime and love to pass on and share what I know to anyone that is interested. I started a fly fishing club for women last year called “Fly Girls of New Brunswick” and hope to start a fly tying club as well. My favourite place to fish is anywhere on the Miramichi drainage system.
