Notes: The Sweep is an old salmon fly which has roots in the United Kingdom. The fly was tied for the Scandinavian Atlantic salmon runs. The fly has found success on the Canadian east coast finding favour with the Newfoundland and Labrador salmon. Earlier examples of the fly feature a golden pheasant tippet tail in place of the crest. You can check out an Atlantic salmon version tied by Bob on his site.

Robert FrandsenBob (Robert) Frandsen – I started fishing at a pretty early age going as a hanger on with my grandfather in my pre- school years.
I began tying flies at 13 under the guidance of Lance Wedlick who was well known in Australia more as writer.
