Petr Haisman Streamers
Petr has been tying streamers now for a number of years and is an ever-present participant on the Streamer List. Hailing from the Czech Republic can be challenging for an active streamer tyer. Streamers require some specific materials, materials that can be hard to locate in even the best stocked fly shops. This makes it difficult to tie a vast range of patterns, but creating variations to test out in the local streams is something Petr has honed.
Herbie Welch’s Black Ghost pattern is an absolute staple in Petr’s arsenal, and a multitude of versions decorate the pierced foam in his streamer box. The Black Ghost is a true classic, and it’s simple material requirements and construction have resulted in several fine specimen brown trout on the end of Petr’s line.
The Jay & Yellow streamer came to life after a pair of jay wings made it into Petr’s hands. The stiff barred blue feathers were paired with some borrowed bright yellow hackles and a new design was ready to be tested in the flowing waters of the Jizera River. No doubt that if there was a better selection of feathers, you would be seeing more original designs, but the influence of Mr. Welch has been well received and has served Petr well.
Thanks Petr for sharing you collection.

Petr Haisman – Petr has been fishing since the early age of six with his father. His father instilled the skills to catch fish and started a passion for fishing. At age 14, Petr began tying nymphs and dry flies in pursuit of the native Czech Republic grayling. He was raised along side the Jizera River, and his approach of casting tiny dry flies to rising grayling was handsomely rewarded.
