Darren has been fishing from the age of 4 all across Canada. He started on the east coast in Prince Edward Island before moving west to the banks of the Bow River in Calgary Alberta. He now resides just outside of Toronto, fishing the Great Lakes and the fine tributary waters around the GTA. Darren started tying flies as a way pass time after a liver transplant in 2002 and was instantly addicted to tying. The addiction really hit when he was introduced to the classic streamers of Lew Oatman, Carrie Stevens and Herb Welch. He has been tying flies commercially for the past few years and ties streamers for pleasure. Darren has written a number of fly tying articles for publications both on the web and in print, including his regular fly tying column, “Hooks and Half Hitches”, in Fly Fusion magazine.
