Notes: Bill tied his rendition of the Renous Special on a massive #7/0 vintage Partridge low water salmon iron. The pattern is a local design named for both the originator and the Renous river. The Renous River is divided into two major branches, the North and the South, which join the Southwest Miramichi River at the village of Quarryville. The river is noted for it’s run of Atlantic salmon which run from June to October. The fly is deadly smelt imitation for spring run salmon and steelhead and should be fished deep.
Bill Chandler – I have been tying flies for the Angler and the collector since 1978. I discovered fly fishing and fly tying by watching a Canadian angling show one Saturday morning. Since then I have spent a considerable time of my life learning both the old and new techniques of tying flies.
